The Quran Program at Ithraa School is the heart around which the entire school community beats. It is designed as a structured, progressive journey that begins with correct pronunciation and advances through memorization, understanding, and internalization. The program is divided into three interconnected tracks that run simultaneously across all grade levels.

Tajweed — the science of correct Quranic recitation — is introduced from the earliest grades. Students learn the Makharij al-Huruf (articulation points of Arabic letters), the rules of prolongation (Madd), assimilation (Idgham), nasalization (Ghunnah), and stopping (Waqf). Proficiency is assessed through individual oral examinations, peer-listening exercises, and digital recitation tools that provide real-time phonological feedback.

• Foundation Level (K–G2): Noor Al-Bayan and Qaida Nooraniyya methodology
• Intermediate Level (G3–G6): Full application of the 10 Tajweed rules in Juz' Amma
• Advanced Level (G7–G12): Mastery-level recitation, Qira'at awareness, and Ijazah preparation

Memorization of the Holy Quran is a distinguished program offered at Ithraa School, with a dedicated Hifz stream available to qualifying students. The program does not view memorization as rote repetition; rather, it is approached as a spiritual and cognitive discipline that builds memory capacity, concentration, emotional regulation, and resilience.

Understanding the meaning of the Quran is as important as memorizing it. Ithraa School's Tafseer program introduces students to the meanings of the verses they memorize using age-appropriate explanations rooted in classical Tafseer works (Ibn Katheer, Al-Tabari, Al-Sa'di). Students engage in Taddabur sessions — guided reflection circles where they connect Quranic meanings to their personal lives, contemporary events, and other subject areas.

Research in cognitive psychology consistently shows that memorization training enhances working memory capacity, attention span, and executive function. Ithraa School's Quran program achieves all of this while simultaneously building Arabic vocabulary, developing oral fluency, and fostering a deep, personal relationship with the Word of Allah.
